My Great Grandmother's machine 7/31/20

 I had to post a picture of this antique Singer sewing machine.  It belonged to my great grandmother around 1920.  It still works!  You had to operate the treadle with your foot.   I recently used it to sew canvas bags because I did not want to run the heavy fabric through my newer "plastic" sewing machine. 

My grandmother had a 1950-60 machine, somewhere in that decade.  It looked similar to the 1920 model except it was electric.  I found this picture on the Singer site.  Now THAT was a sturdy machine.  I wish we still had that particular sewing machine.
